Just wanted to say what a warm and wonderful person our Aunty Pam was. She never missed an important event, wishing you luck with every significant part of your life. Remembering the smallest things. We were lucky enough to have Pam join our family when she married Cyril and she was a wonderful addition.
We became very close when arranging our wedding in Kent so we could be close to my dying father. Pam was the perfect guide to all things wonderful and helped us organise the most fabulous wedding weekend. Her years of organising social events for her Whatman colleagues were put to great use! She would regularly tell us about how happy she was there and felt very lucky to have such a large group of lifelong friends.
We are going to miss her visits to Suffolk with Bill, Jane and John. We will miss the lovely meals we would share together with the fine wine, gorgeous gins and even the odd real ale. When the journey became too much we would visit Maidstone and loved to visit her favourite eateries!
The last time we saw her was just before her passing, she was full of laughter and life. We enjoyed great times together and made great memories. We had been waiting for such a long time to see each other safely. She was so pleased to be able to see her friends and family as she was always such a sociable person. She talked about the next Whatman Event, The Christmas do too with great glee. She had just received her Italian leather sofa which she had been waiting for for 2 years! She had said how comfortable it was and how she kept falling to sleep on it. She had her birthday surrounded by friends and love. Eaten fine food. Caught up with missed ones. Ticked all the boxes on her itinerary of what makes her happy before peacefully leaving us. That brings me peace knowing she is now with Cyril having dealt with all the loose ends...
